My Favourite Money Books
In this blog post, I will introduce you to a collection of finance and money books that I have read (listening on audible still counts are reading right?!!) and enjoyed, that I think would make excellent reads, allowing you to expand your knowledge and transform your relationship with money.
I am an chartered accountant, my business is all about money, both personal and business finance, yet I don’t enjoy reading heavy, jargon full, finance text books. I believe having a powerful money mindset is more beneficial than being great with numbers.
And so, these books are not your typical dry finance textbooks or dull investment manuals. They are engaging, inspirational, and often infused with personal anecdotes and relatable stories that make them enjoyable reads. By combining practical advice with captivating storytelling, these books effortlessly captivate your attention and encourage you to think differently about money.
Whether you're lounging by the beach, enjoying a picnic in the park, or simply unwinding in the comfort of your own back garden, these finance and money books will accompany you on a transformative voyage, guiding you towards financial freedom, empowerment, and a deeper understanding of the principles that govern wealth creation.
In today's world, financial literacy and wealth creation are vital skills for navigating the complex landscape of personal finance. Whether you're just starting your financial journey or looking to enhance your money management skills, these books can be powerful tools for learning and gaining new perspectives.
So now here is my list of my favourite finance and money books (so far, I’m not finished reading yet!).

I read this one early in my money mindset journey. It’s a classic in the personal finance genre, and is a guide to the Financial Independence, Retire Early (FIRE) movement. "Your Money or Your Life" offers a step-by-step guide to achieving financial independence and aligning your values with your spending habits. This book emphasizes the importance of understanding the true cost of money and adopting a mindful approach to financial decisions.
Rich Dad, Poor Dad - Robert Kiyosaki:
Robert Kiyosaki's "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" is another classic and potentially one of the best know finance books out there. It challenges conventional notions about wealth and provides valuable lessons on financial literacy. Through the contrasting experiences of his two fathers, Kiyosaki explores the mindset and strategies needed to build wealth, including investing in assets, developing financial intelligence, and cultivating a mindset of abundance. It has a good mix of mindset and practical advice.
The Four Spiritual Laws of Prosperity - Edwene Gaines:
I read this one recently and I loved the in depth explanation of the concept of Tithing. I admit it was not something I knew much about before reading this book. It was a fascinating insight into the spiritualty behind it. This book blends spiritual principles with practical financial advice. "The Four Spiritual Laws of Prosperity" offers a unique perspective on creating wealth and living a purposeful life. Edwene Gaines shares her own experiences and presents a holistic approach that integrates spiritual, emotional, and financial well-being.

Another classic, written in 1037, "Think and Grow Rich" teaches the principles of success and wealth creation, emphasizing the power of positive thinking, perseverance, and goal setting to achieve one's financial goals and overall fulfilment in life. Hill explores the mindset and strategies of successful individuals, providing practical advice for readers to harness their thoughts and take decisive action towards their dreams. I found it a heavier read than some of the others on this list but I did read the original version, I am told the updated version has modern references and is an easier read.
Secrets of a Millionaire Mind - T. Harv Eker:
I listened to this one in 2020 and it always brings back memories of long walks around the lakes during COVID. It is another great one for ambitious entrepreneurs especially. "Secrets of a Millionaire Mind" delves into the psychological aspects of wealth creation. T. Harv Eker explores the limiting beliefs and thought patterns that may be holding us back from financial success and provides strategies to rewire our thinking for prosperity.
Money and the Law of Attraction - Esther Hicks and Jerry Hicks:
This was my big read of the summer 2021. I am a fan of the teachings of Abraham and when I saw they had a book on money, well it was a no brainer for me! Esther and Jerry Hicks present the teachings of Abraham, a collective consciousness, in "Money and the Law of Attraction." This book explores the connection between thoughts, emotions, and financial abundance. Through practical exercises and guidance, readers can learn to align their thoughts and emotions with the universal principles of abundance and manifest greater financial success. It really is very powerful and actually covers not just money but abundance in health and relationships too.
The Psychology of Money - Morgan Housel:
This book will provoke so many AHA moments, you may get dizzy! It is more gender neutral than some of the my previous recommendations and one I often recommend to men especially. This very easy to read book explores the complex relationship between money and human behaviour. Written by Morgan Housel, it delves into the psychological factors that influence our financial decisions, providing valuable insights on how we can navigate the world of money with greater understanding and success. He includes some inspiring real life stories which give the book depth and keeps the reader engaged.
The Secret to Attracting Money - Dr Joe Vitale:
TThis book dives into the connection between energy, mindset, and wealth. Dr Joe Vitale shows how our beliefs and emotions about money shape what we attract. It’s not about quick fixes or external success, but about shifting your inner relationship with money - learning to feel safe receiving, holding, and growing it. A beautiful reminder that abundance begins from within.
The Art of Spending Money – Morgan Housel
This isn’t a book about how to make more money - it’s about how to use it wisely and meaningfully. Morgan Housel explores why we spend the way we do and how to align our spending with what truly matters. It’s a refreshing take on wealth that values freedom, intention, and contentment over comparison. A must-read for anyone ready to spend with purpose rather than pressure.
The Psychology of Investing – John R. Nofsinger
This book is a brilliant look at how our emotions and behaviour influence investment decisions far more than we realise. John Nofsinger explains why even smart people make irrational choices when money is involved and how awareness can help us invest more calmly and confidently. It’s a straightforward, eye-opening read that helps you understand your own patterns, reduce fear, and build better long-term habits as an investor.
These finance and money books offer a diverse range of perspectives and strategies to help readers improve their financial literacy, transform their money mindset, and achieve greater financial success. Whether you're a beginner seeking foundational knowledge or someone looking to deepen their understanding of wealth creation, these books have something to offer for everyone.
Remember that reading alone is not enough. The true power lies in taking action. As you engage with these books, reflect on how you can implement the concepts and strategies discussed into your own life. Challenge yourself to step out of your comfort zone, embrace new opportunities, and make positive changes to your financial habits.
Choose the concepts that resonate most with you. I don’t follow everything in the books. There are elements of some I don’t agree with, but I take them as ideas to reflect on. I go back to myself, my value and belief system and implement the ones I feel connected to. Being mindful of my limiting beliefs and pushing myself out of my comfort zone too…otherwise I may as well not even read the books if I just stick to what I already know!
I would love to hear about your experience with these books. Let me know what you thought of them, which concepts resonated with you the most, and how they have influenced your financial journey.
